Hackathons, Launchpad & XP
How Launchpad ideas, checklist XP, hackathon scoring, and one-per-org submissions work.
Build with Oflo
These two surfaces move the needle fastest: convert a Launchpad idea so XP has somewhere to land, then pipe intent into the workspace with Signal APIs (REST, MCP, or n8n).
Launchpad
Create an idea, convert to reality, and grind the XP checklist.
Signal APIs
Ingest buying-intent events from agents, n8n, MCP, or curl.
How the pieces fit together
| Piece | What it is |
|---|---|
| Launchpad | Your GTM idea workspace. Create an idea → convert it → earn XP via a checklist of real product actions. |
| XP | Points for completing checklist actions (accounts, campaigns, MCP, SDK, etc.). Tracked per user/org with idempotent awards. |
| Hackathon | Timed competition. Active members’ Launchpad XP inside the hackathon window ranks organizations on the leaderboard. |
| Submission | One application per organization for the hackathon, tied to a specific Launchpad idea. |
To do well: join as an active member → work in an organization workspace → convert an idea → grind the checklist (product + developer actions) during the live window → submit that idea when ready.
1. Join the hackathon
- Open the hackathon join link from your confirmation email (event forms email the join link after submit — use that link, not an on-page CTA).
- Complete signup / checkout so membership is active (soft join alone does not rank).
- Switch to an organization workspace (personal-only cannot submit).
2. Launchpad setup
- Go to /dashboard/launchpad.
- Create a GTM idea (title + optional URL).
- Optionally autofill from URL, then Convert to Reality.
- Open the converted idea checklist and keep it open while you work (XP updates as you go).
3. Earn XP (product)
Default: +1 XP per distinct action (unless noted).
| Action | How | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Create an account | Add company accounts | Accounts |
| Connect an integration | Connect a tool (once per integration type) | Integrations |
| Create a brand | Create brand kits | Brands |
| Create a project | Create projects | Projects |
| Activate a campaign | Activate (not just draft) | Campaigns |
| Add a lead | Create leads | Leads |
| Send a single send | Actually send | Single sends |
| Create a magic URL | Create tracked links | Magic URLs |
| Magic URL traffic | +1 XP every 10 views (threshold) | Magic URLs |
| Create a workflow | Create automation | Workflows |
| Create a task | Create tasks | Tasks |
| Publish a social post | Publish (not draft) | Social |
4. Earn XP (developer / builders)
| Action | How | Docs |
|---|---|---|
| Call an MCP tool | Connect MCP in Claude/Cursor with your API key; each tool call earns XP | MCP installation |
| API key active day | +1 XP per key per calendar day when the key is used | API keys |
5. Submit (once per org)
- Hackathon must be live with a submission form attached.
- On Launchpad, open the idea you want to submit → Submit to hackathon.
- Fill the form → Save draft anytime → Submit once.
- After submit: that idea shows as the org’s submission; other ideas show that another idea was already submitted.
How scoring / “winning” works
- Leaderboard ranks organizations, not individuals.
- Only active members with an organization count.
- Only XP earned between hackathon
startsAtandendsAtcounts. - Soft members and XP outside the window do not rank.
- Volume wins: more distinct accounts/campaigns/sends/MCP calls → more XP.
- Magic link views scale with traffic (+1 per 10 views).
- Final application is separate from XP — submit your best idea so judges can review it.
Tips to maximize XP
- Convert early so checklist actions attach to a real idea.
- Prefer repeatable volume (many accounts/leads/sends) over one-and-done.
- Drive real magic-link traffic for threshold XP.
- Use MCP + SDK during the event for high-frequency builder XP.
- Keep API keys active each day of the hackathon.
- Stay in the org workspace so membership, submit, and scoring stay aligned.
Quick FAQ
Why don’t I see Submit? Need: active membership + live hackathon + submission form attached + org workspace.
Can we submit two ideas? No — one submission per organization.
Does deleting a draft revoke XP? No for converted checklist progress (draft delete is separate).
Where do admins see detail? Control panel → Hackathons → Leaderboard (XP + event counts) → Usage tab (per user/action) → Submission opens the application + which idea was submitted.
